So I understand that SOE, in their infinite wisdom, removed the "toss up" element of this spell some time ago. My question is: Is my old version of this spell supposed to work somewhere? It seems that for quite some time now, no matter where I am, I get a message that says "This spell will not work here". Not that I use the spell a lot, but since it DOES do AE dmg I'd like to be able to use it when I am say...farming spider silks, or something similar. If neccessary I will delete my old copy and buy a new one, no big deal, but I am curious if there are just extrodinate restrictions on where this can be cast or what the deal is.

Also, keep in mind that the damage you take from falling has been greatly reduced since this spell was first introduced. So even if it still launches someone into the air, they will probably take little or no damage from the fall now.
it doesn't launch anything anymore. the targets just take spell damage and falling damage, without actually falling.

This is now a area damage spell with no toss up and is sold in POK by the prementioned seller = )

Since this spell had to be nerfed and no longer has a toss-up effect so people cant get on top of city walls or see mobs behind a wall somewhere, why not take the ability to see and aggro through walls away from mobs to balance things out a bit? Thats the least that could be done since most mobs in the game already have an overwhelming advantage in most cases (run through walls, cast while running, infinite mana, etc..) and are morbidly overpowered. But i guess that would take away the fun of the game, and EQ would no longer be the #1 MMORPG if those standards werent followed, and unique spells like this had their effects removed beacuse it made things just a little bit easier. Anyway, heres an idea.. even though this spell has been around and been called Gravity Flux for years now, how about fixing the name of it, since the word "gravity" is now irrelevant in this case? Just "Flux" might be more fitting for it now.

This spell use to be used to toss people up to get on walls of a city to kill npc since back then they didnt teleport to you after like 5 seconds of you standing still.
I also noticed once in OT that somebody casted it on a dragoon he went flying and the caster had levitate and ran to the center of the pit the dragoon fell from few hundred feet above normal level from spell and a few hundred more from the pit, was an instant kill. On that note I tried to run a dragoon off it he wasnt hurt from the fall so I went to NK to see the high ranking guard at top of guard tower on the bridge to SK fall off as he use to do over and over suiciding in old days he also was not hurt, that leads me to the question of wether or not npc cant be hurt by falling anymore by non spell falls?
I suppose a lot of you are thinking I am an idoit for asking that question when I already know the answer but I asked so others would tell stories of how they used to kill mobs with that technique. And for those of you who think this is inappropriate for a spell post I full heartedly disagree seing as how it was only this spell that did it making this the only place for it.

This NPC does NOT sell this spell. Either that or he was out of stock. Went there today and none on him.
Cannot be cast in Gulf of Gunthak. I just obtained it said this spell could not be cast here.

2 years and 4 months later, I have found this to still be true. I was excited to try out my new Grvity Flux nuke once I dinged and it told me, You can not cast this spell here. /cry.

Yeah, the rumors are true. Its been nerfed because people were "exploiting" the airborn thing, ie, seing mobs to be pulled, going over places your not suposed to be in etc etc

does Gflux no longer toss you in the air? I tried it on myself several times and I never went airborn, I did however noticed that the damage was increased to 278 a pop. and yes I tried it in a couple of zones and they were ones it used to work in.

I was wondering that, myself. I just hit 39 last night and, after giving all the melee-ers Celerity, I memmed this spell. Not knowing the range, I backed away from the battle and cast it. The mob didn't even move. I just got the initial hit damage message and falling damage message.
Thinking it might have been the zone (DL) or something, I headed to North Qeynos and cast it on myself in the yard. I did go into the air... less than half a foot (my estimate). Major let-down. I'm glad I have Illusion: Spirit Wolf to console me.

This is an Area Effect spell? If So That Is REally kewl once i get to lvl 39 i am buying it!!!

isn't there a spell like this where these people would cast on them selves to go over a wall ur not supposed to and kill a MOB and they nerfed wut he dropped and its now that ugly clown card that gives minus 99 to all stats....hehe my friend has one
I just got this spell the other day and decided to go try it out somewhere with big crowds of lower level mobs. Hey what better place then King Crush's throne room, right? Those blue bastards have killed me so many times while growing up that it was pay back time! Now I did have my pet cast, "duel sworded" and fully buffed just in case but I went up to the lego's cast gravity flux, hit 4 of em, cast a stun, cast a longer stun, backed off fluxed again, stuned, area mezzed, medded a bit and fluxed again. That was so much fun I just couldn't whipe the grin off my face.
Now granted, I waited till there weren't any casting orcs or Emmisary's in the room but hey, I'm not stupid. I wanted to see the trick work, not die at the hands of a bunch of green mobs.
An even better place to go if you just want to see 8 mobs die at the hands of a single spell is Southern Karana as soon as you get off the bridge take a left along the water untill you see 8 stupid bandits just sitting there. By the time you have this spell they wont bother you at all. Target the one in the middle and whamo!!! Am I a ********* or what?
Granted you cant get rich using this spell or even gain any experience but it is certainly worth the few platinum it costs to go visit those nightmare camp spots rom your newbi days and get some payback.
