ornate chain bridles are only dropped from Seru in Sanctus Seru or from the emperor in temple of SSRA

Small Drum = Rope Bridle = 35% movement increase (faster than rs 3, but slower than sow cast by lvl 65)
Drum = Leather Bridle = 60% movement increase (movement like sow, cast by lvl 65)
Large Drum = Silken Bridle = 90% movement increase(slower than socheetah, much faster than sow
Giant Drum = Chain Bridle = 110% movement increase (faster than socheetah and selo (selo without aa / instruments)
ornate bridle = glowing drum = pally/sk aa horse = 140% movement increase (faster than the giant drum

Where did you get this information?

I've been lead to believe that aa horse is slightly faster than ornate but glowing drum is equal.

Where did you find these percents?

I know that each run speed is 10%.

I think sow (or maybe soe) is 55%.

first off, the color of the horse doesn't affect how fast it may go at all... it just makes it look all pretty. To start with the 10k horse really doesn't have any speed buff. It is the same speed as running without JBoots or SoW or anyting, the only benefit is that you can sit and med while still moving. The 35k horse has the speed of a level 65 SoW pretty much, nothing extremely exciting I'd say. The 60k horse has about the speed of Spirit of Cheetah, roughly in that area. The 100k horse has the speed of a 65 bard's Selo's song about. Then the Shadowknight and Paladin AA horses are the fastest of all... but unless you're a pally or sk you don't have to worry about that.

Just like to point out the charisma factor when buying a horse.

My friend told me to get my char 200+. i did. 223 when i bought my horse. Out of curiosity i kept dropping it down and checking the price. Found something useful.

Max u need to get char is 110 for best buy. anymore is a waste.

For those who didn't already know this )
Can you sell your horse back?

Is there a way to sell your horse back and buy another one?
RE: Can you sell your horse back?

There is a way ... sorta ... same with the Drogmores from Gunthak. You hail and talk to the other guys in the stable that are actually in front of the horses. BTW at first I thought these were the guys selling the horses. After you find the guy who is looking for the color bridal (or drum in Gunthak) give it to him and he will give you a bag of Plat that you sell to any vendor, just get you CHA up some and have at least indiferent faction as there can be a few thousand pp difference. FYI remember the weight factor when selling you bag. If your not in the Bazaar you might be so overweight you won't be able to move at all and have to beg a friend to come get you.

Rumor?
# Apr 26 2003 at 4:02 AM Rating: Decent
Besides the movement increases, are there any other beneficial stats one gets for having a horse.....as in mana regen?
RE: Rumor?
# May 09 2003 at 9:20 PM Rating: Decent
mana regen...........just like medding except on horse back, the importance of this is that you will no longer aquire aggie while medding on horse back in the higher level zones that permit hosrse's ........thats the one reason ya see alot of casters with cheep mounts (horses lizards), these are no longer a fashion statment but actually provide usefullness

Casting SOW on a horse
# Apr 24 2003 at 7:24 PM Rating: Decent
Can you cast SOW on a horse ?

RE: Casting SOW on a horse
# Apr 24 2003 at 11:27 PM Rating: Good
SoW, bard song, SOE, and all other speed-up spells have no effect on you when you are on a horse. You can cast it on yourself, but it won't have an effect until you dismount.

I just want to say I think that is LAME, but the developers forgot to consult me in the matter Smiley: jester

When you zone, do you loose the horse? If not a summoned horse is good thing to have for a day of game play :)

Usually if you go from an outdoor zone to an outdoor zone, you will still be on your horse. Though if you zone into a indoor zone you won't have it, and sometimes you lose it zoning from outdoor to outdoor anyway.

No, you don't. Anyone have the pct movement rate increase of each of the bridles. It has been my experience that the leather bridle is just about as fast as SoW. Any thoughts would be appriciated.

Based on that great info from Squishybrain and from what I have been able to find this is my best guess.

There are the four different levels of Bridles and four sizes of drums. The color seems to only indicate the color of the beast (although the Black & White horses tend to be slightly more expensive than the Tan & Brown colors - I guess if you want to stand out more it costs more).

Small Drum = Rope Bridle = 25% movement increase

Drum = Leather Bridle = 50% movement increase

Large Drum = Silken Bridle = 60% movement increase

Giant Drum = Chain Bridle = 70% movement increase
