The Champion's Festival is an event that ran from November 3rd to November 14th 2023.
You can obtain this solo task from Fellen Xalladyr in the Commonlands at /way -371, -1327, 60 in a hut northwest of the Commonlands tunnel entrance. He is on the Find tool (Ctrl+F). You say, 'Hail, Fellen Xalladyr' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Move along, traveler. I don't have time for distractions. There's much [work] to be done.' You say, 'I can help with work.' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'I doubt that. The Festival of Champions is here, and you don't look like a champion. Stories are to be told and beer is to be drunk. I am working on the ending to my [tale] and have no time.' You have been assigned the task 'Freeport Champions' Tale'. Fellen Xalladyr has been having trouble writing down his tale for the Champions' Festival tales contest. He believes that if you get him a few drinks, he should be able to complete his long-winded saga about Luclin. Speak with Fellen about his story and see what you can do to help. You say, 'You wrote a tale?' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Who hasn't? Mine is going to win me more beer than I can drink. It involves [gnomes], a ginormous machine, and a really fat dragon.' You say, 'Don't gnomes always build machines?' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Indeed, but this tale takes place inside of the moon. There's a group of gnomes deep within the moon and they have been building machines in secret. Ermph. My throat is a bit parched. I could use a [drink].' You say, 'I could get you a drink.' Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. Head to the Hogcallers Inn and grab a Killer Zombie Mead for Fellen. The Hogcallers Inn in West Freeport is located at /way 126, -644, -87. The drink Killer Zombie Mead is on the counter in that building in front of the merchants, looks like a purple collectible. It has a very quick respawn for those running this on multiple characters. You say, 'How do you get a trained dragon?' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Who's telling this story? Hrrm. Anyways. So, the gnomes kept this dragon well fed. Maybe too well-fed. He got big. Really big. He began to gain weight and kept gaining weight, until he couldn't get away even if he wanted to. My throat is starting to dry out again. Sure could use [something else] to wet it.' You say, 'I could get you something else.' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'I won't hold my breath.' Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Well, that wasn't bad. The Key Tavern is located on the far northwest side of the zone, west of the Arena. /way 522, -169, 7 The Black Snack Fang Mead is on the counter and looks like a purple collectible. Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. You offered 1 Black Snack Fang Mead to Fellen Xalladyr. Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. Fellen Xalladyr says, 'That's better. The dragon, right, he doesn't know any better. He eats and breathes fire to power the machine. He grows bored. Dragons aren't meant to be kept as pets. They can think for themselves and make plans. Maybe he noticed a fault in the machine or maybe he just grew too big, and then maybe the gnomes didn't pay enough attention. They got too caught up in the routine of the long days and tinkering with their machines. But the dragon, he was [paying attention].' You complete the trade with Fellen Xalladyr. Speak with Fellen about his tale of gnomes and the moon. You say 'What was he been paying attention to?' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Now that is the fun part. Who knows? He's a dragon. It could have been the sounds of the gears grinding, the drops of water from where the steam's condensation gathers, or the ticking of little rodent claws, but something set him off that [day].' You say, 'What day?' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'The day that the [moon shattered] into little pieces and rained down upon Norrath. ' You say, 'The moon hasn't shattered' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Well, of course not. It's a tale. It's a story that I am writing. I just must finish it, but it's stubbornly out of my grasp. How can I enter the tale for consideration when I can't finish it? Maybe I just need another [brew].' You say, 'I can get you another brew.' Fellen Xalladyr says, 'That would help me out a lot. ' Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. Head to the forgotten storerooms and grab a Brew Thirteen Mead for Fellen. Brew Thirteen Mead is on a bench at /way 676, -1332, -81 in the east part of the zone in a room with a forgotten merchant. It looks like a purple collectible. Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. You offered 1 Brew Thirteen Mead to Fellen Xalladyr. Your task 'Freeport Champions' Tale' has been updated. Fellen Xalladyr says, 'Oh, I think that's all I needed. I think I have it all written down. However, I don't think I can make it there before the [deadline]. I was able to pre-collect the 3 meads, when it comes to time to "Collect a mead" you merely hand it to him, when he returns it because you aren't at that stage yet, it updates it as if you collected the mead. Then hand it in and continue. This way you can save some time running.,
