Strange things have been happening in the Feerrott. The ogres have sent Waagosh out to speak with the locals about what is happening. Unfortunately, she has been more interested in treating her painful feet. Waagosh has given you her notes about tracking down fellow ogres who may be having issues.

Talk to Othan about his warder's illness.

    Othan is an ogre located by the river at /way -882,-767,-14.47. He's on Find (Ctrl+F).

    You say, 'Hail, Othan'

    Othan says, 'Hello. My name is Othan. What's your [name]? '

    You say, 'My name is ______.'

    Othan says, 'That's a good name. ______. ______. ______. This is Greke. He doesn't feel good. I am [worried about] him.'

    You say, 'Why are you worried about him?'

    Othan says, 'His color is a little off. He isn't normally so blue. And he keeps [playing dead]. At first, I thought he just didn't want to go home. He really likes going for walks.'

    You say, 'Are you sure he is really playing dead?'

    Othan says, 'I know he isn't dead. I can feel him. Maybe he just needs a [bath]? '

    You say, 'I think he needs more than a bath. Waagosh sent me to investigate what happened to him'

    Othan says, 'Hrmh. Waagosh is very smart. Maybe I should [talk] to her.'

    You say, 'I can talk to her for you. What happened right before Greke stopped walking?'

    Othan says, 'Swamps can be very noisy. I am no elf. I just heard the swamp go quiet for a bit. But I did see some smudges in the mud. Something big did slide by recently. '

    Rouk is an ogre located in the southwest part at /way -962,+1916,-44.64. He's on Find (Ctrl+F).

    You say, 'Hail, Rouk'

    Rouk says, 'Hello. Did you [need] something?'

    You say, 'I need to ask you a few questions.'

    Rouk says, 'I send word for aid, and they send me you. What [happened] to Waagosh?'

    You say, 'She happened to be busy. How can I help?'

    Rouk says, 'Hrmph. As you can see, he doesn't feel well. I think he ate something that didn't agree with him. There have been bountiful [growths] in the swamps this year. We haven't categorized them all yet for safety.'

    You say, 'What growths?'

    Rouk says, 'There have been all types of parasitic plants infesting the vegetation. The ones I am worried about are the [mushrooms].'

    You say, 'Why are you worried about mushrooms?'

    Rouk says, 'The plants had been disturbed and there were marks of other creatures grazing on them. But I didn't see any other sick bodies near there. '

    Usha is an ogre located on the west wall at /way +49,+2790,-14.32. She's on Find (Ctrl+F).

    Usha says, 'Stay back. Muok has been [sick]. '

    You say, 'How did he get sick?'

    Usha says, 'His eyes were too large, he tried to catch a lizard, and well, the lizard fought back. He did manage to chase off the [beast].'

    You say, 'Did you see which direction the beast ran off towards?'

    Usha says, 'It ran off towards the mountains. But I don't think it will be happy there. It did resemble a creature that prefers the waters of the swamp.'

    You say, 'I learned that there have been one or more lizards, who or may not have been eating new growth mushrooms.'

    Rubak is a female troll located at /way +5582,-2445,+24 by the water in the southeastern part of the zone, near the South Ro zone line.

    Rubak says, 'Oh, now you've done it. The thought has gone, I've lost it, and [the water] has taken it. What did you want?'

    You say, 'Waagosh sent me to ask you about what's happening in the Feerrott. The water is unusually high and causing issues.'

    Rubak says, 'What issues could I help Waagosh with? She's such a smart [ogre].'

    You say, 'That ogre is concerned about reports of strange lizards and new types of mushrooms. There have been some incidents involving some warders falling ill.'

    Rubak says, 'So, is it the mushrooms or the lizards [causing the issues]? '

    You say, 'We're not sure what's causing the issues. Two reports pointed towards the lizard and another towards the mushrooms.'

    Rubak says, 'How about you [catch one] of those lizards and we will investigate some more. '

    You say, 'How do I catch one?'

    Rubak says, 'Here take one of my medicine bags, and mix in a sample of each of the affected warders. Find an area that the lizard may be near, then spray the concoction on yourself. The little lizard should be attracted to the smell. '

    "an afflicted swamp basilisk" will spawn and attack you around /way -383,+491,+25 on the northern end of the peninsula between the fork of the 2 rivers. So be ready. Its level varies according to your level (123 for a level 120 character, 84 for a level 79 character ...)


  • 12. Defeat the afflicted swamp basilisk 0/1 The Feerrott

    I was able to solo it easily with a 120 mage. The level 84 version hit very hard on a decently geared 79 SK, with no chance to kill it without dying first.

    the an afflicted swamp basilisk that spawned for me at level 80 was red. i died to fast to con it. it was quadding for 4600 max. my mage pets companions fortification did absolutely nothing to slow it down. i shrouded to level 20 and the basilisk that spawned was level 54 and was hitting for 296 max. it took another 80 mages pet about 45 seconds to kill it. if i got in range it turned to me no matter how much agro the pet had built. it might just be that the scaling is off for lower levels but i would approach this like a serious named fight if not a mini raid if you dont want to cheese it with a low level shroud and high level help.

    I had the exact same problem on my level 79 SK, the healer merc died very fast, then the SK barely survived with FD. Later on, I did the same task on my 120 DRU and the basilisk died so fast from my tank merc alone that I didn't even had the time to hit it.
