The hardest thing to get was the quill from the little avatar spawn in the maze, took a little under 4 hours of spawn clearing to finally get one to drop.
on to the mob...
a horror construct... relatively easy kill, HP was somewhere around 200-300k i think, maybe a tiny bit more.
mob was taken down by a level 76 war 500AA with a healer merc, and a 81 rogue (unknown AA). fight took about 7ish minutes of solid DPS. with relatively high magic resists (around 400+) we had no problem with the AoE or any other procs. was all in all a fairly easy kill (yeah yeah, its from way back when, i know)
didnt cause a problem at all
dropped horror shard blade (what i was looking for, thank god) and x2 untouchable tome of lunacy
FINALLY i can leave cazic thule and NEVER come back! ...until i want another horror shard blade for my twink's secondary ;-)
forgot to add, he hit for average of about 119, max was about 450. 18CS/CA

Mob hits for 600, is immune to slow. If you position your clerics right you can heal from below where the enraged lizards are, and you should only have to kill 1 of them if you place your clerics right. The mob has a 220 aoe that has a gflux in it, which is negated by lev, and also casts a single target knockback, but not very frequently. We took it down with 2 65 warriors, 1 65 monk, couple shaman pets, necro pet, think there was a few more people there 65 mage and 65 wiz were there too.
It is neccesary to have Call of the hero. Our MT got fluxed down to 4c i think twice in the fight, which lasted about 30 mins. Since it cannot be slowed and hits fast thats a problem. No CoH means no win. And it despawns in under 10 mins of losing agro. However, it is perma rooted mob. If it regens to full it can then be re agroed. I would say mob has easily 600 or 700k. it took as long as it takes to kill the acidic mass to kill this mob.
It dropped 4 items. the horror shard blade, thulian visage of honor 30 ac 7 str 7 sta 100 hp 3 save all warrior only mask, wailing bone mace, and waling bone shield 35 ac 100 mana 25 wis 15 poison disease bit mroe stats offhand for wis casters.
Mob can be done with 2 groups of high end players easily, jsut need 2 clerics with horses, and a CoH mage.
Been killing this more now. If you have a bard in each of the 2 groups needed for this singing psalm of veeshan and u can hit around 450 mr most of the aoe wont hit you. I would say now about 200 k hp, and its like the acidic in that it can shaft you on loot. Drops 2 to 4 items sometimes 2 great items sometimes 2 crappy commons. Drops a 15 20 25ac 100hp hammer called Loathsome Budgeon of Depravity, the thulian visage of horror, horror shard blade. so far other stuff isnt on par to that. Enjoy!
I went on a raid that did kill him today, he has about 110k hp and a 220dd AE with a G flux thats pretty much unresistable, the key is to have everyone levi'd, and not to let the nuking begin till hes at 80% hp. When we killed him he dropped a war only mask that was something like 10 ac 7 sta 100hp and a few other stats, the Horror shad blade, and a 1hb club that is 15/20 25ac and 100hp.
Look closer. There are plenty of live melee there. You only see those 5 or so dead melee because they arn't lev'd anymore. The rest are up by its head/ back
Anyone know if there is anyway to determine what he drops? im really after the sword would suck to collect the pieces and get something else, when i could turn in for the necklace, with no fighting involved, and turn around and sell it for 100k towards something i know i want.
Once you complete the phobonomicon, (if you don't know anything about this, I'd recommend that you check out "Crude Bone Alter" beforehand.) you can either fork it over to the NPCs in Feerott for FT3 necklace, or give it to the Living Void on top of the Archon Pyramid and spawn this monster.
When we (The Chosen) did him in for the first time, we did him in with 34 personnels. Most of them were level 60s, with others at high 50's (mostly 58+) But you will have to take a grain of salt when you refer to the size of the raid force, since we were Kunark-equipped guild at best. (since Velious wasn't open in Korean server by that time) I still doubt if this monster is doable with raid force of 18 personnel, all pre-ToV gears, but at the same time I have no doubt that you can do him in with a bit more of reinforcement. *of possibly 2 more groups at most*
When Horror Construct spawns, he's perma-rooted. If you know how to handle the problems the right way, he won't pose any serious threat himself.
Problems are two-fold:
1. His AE: He G-fluxes everybody once in a while, which makes it infuriatingly annoying to target him; so I recommend that you buff your raid force with any type of levitation, preferably DMF just because it lasts so long. I heard his AE could be resisted *from my guildie* but I don't know at what MR his AE can be resisted. When hit, his AE hits for some weak 200, so it shouldn't pose any serious threat to any guild that is capable of trying this monster. What makes him much easier than, say, ToV mobs is that he DOESN'T debuff. So just concentrate on beating the living daylight out of him while you're at it.
2. Spawns around the temple: Of course you will kill all the lizards near the top of the temple before you try him, but with relatively small raid force, the spawn can be a problem - this can pose more serious threat than the Horror Construct himself. If you do get wiped out, it may be because of the added lizards in your cleric camp than Horror Construct. So if you think you can get Horror before the respawn, good luck to you. If you are not sure of your raid force's total DPS, reserve a group - a group that will join in beating Horror when there's no pop, but can be dispatched to dispose any repops at any time. Or you may reserve two enchanters, and keep all the re-pops mezzed throughout the whole fight. I think you'll be facing 5 lizard pops at most, so if your enchanter is proficient enough, then he alone should be able to handle the task as well.
His HP is at some 200k-ish, and he claws for some 500 max. CCH is a must, along with max-range principle. I don't think he could be slowed, but I could be wrong - I can't remember exactly on that. See if you can slow him. Also, he WILL despawn if he loses aggro for more than a certain amount of time - I watched that happen with my very own eyes when the other guild (that poor ones being Temple of Power) tried him and got wiped out. So, be careful with wipe-outs.
Yes, we downed him with Kunark-gears and equipments. Would have been much easier with Luclin and Post-Luclin class gears, but that wasn't the case with us, which presented quite a bit of problems.
For those that might ask "Can you get him with Kunark-class equipment?" yes, he's within your reach. If you've got better-than-Kunark gears, more power to you. Just learn to utilize every means at your disposal, and you're all golden.
