Did this quest a few days ago and if you plan on doing it, be prepared for a long drawn out conversation. The Interrogator takes forever to spit out what he needs to say. I went in all prepared with hot keys so I wouldnt have to flip through all my reference materials again. It seemed to take forever for the Interrogator to take us to the Npc locked up in his fort.
I have been following this quest and completing it with a friend. When I did this section of the series the Interrogator was not where he was supposed to be. we tracked to him and still activated the quest. When he started walking to the fight with the shadowknights he walk towards the river (wrong direction) and into the water then disappeared, though not de-spawn.
If you are doing this part of the quest with a tracker, make sure you are actually tracking him all the time just in case. Trust me, it's handy.
If anyone finds the Interrogator somewhere where he isn't supposed to be, it may be wiser to just kill him and wait an hour for a repop. Would be a shame if some pathing error made your Interrogator despawn or get lost! More than likely if you find him on top of the hill, someone attempted quest and failed.
I was helping friend do quest and when she had to punch the 2nd NPC, she did what came natural and hit auto-attack twice (once to attack and once to quickly stop attacking). Well, she inadvertantly attacked him AGAIN and couldn't finish quest properly (I even tried to atone him...he still ate the confession document). So, watch out for that mistake. We decided to go ahead and kill the 2 bloodsabers anyway at ruins for fun/practice. A method that worked very well for us was AoE DD (upheaval was used)...takes care of ALL the pesky minions and wraiths. She then turned in heads in hopes of still getting the badge: no go :(
Anyway, to get to the point, the Interrogater never moved or despawned after quest was botched, and after a few hours I decided to just kill Interrogated. The good news is that there is no faction hit whatsoever from him...the bad news is that he is 100% MR, so you need to melee him to death. His re-pop time at normal place under tree is about 1 hour.
Also, anyone who has done these quests can agree they are fun fun quests and I applaud Verant for their effort!
Some classes are better off that they have kick, slam or bash skills which don't auto-repeat. It would be nice if there was actually a way to hit 1 time through a command(/hit target), although this is the only instance in the entire game that I can think of it could be useful.

Gonna try and see if the 3rd part of this quest has been implemented with the patch today. If anyone gets more info before I do, please post on this thread.
-Edit-
The third step IS in. The reward is the Researcher's Badge. I completed it this evening and will be submitting a screenshot to Allakhazam promptly.
For those who have attempted it, the person you seek is in Western Karana, and the puzzle that makes you 'intelligent' enough to receive your reward is so simple, a small child could get it right.

Anyone ever found that little burning brazer in the qeynos catacombs? The one that says your not holding the key when u click on it by the 2 guards?.... just curious
This 10 step quest is actually pretty fun, and it has a really good story line to it. I don't know if this is leading up to the plane of Decay or killing Bertox. But, it would be really cool if it did.
it looks like they are preparing to set up the finding of the entrance to the Plane of Disease. With the possibility of Bertoxx's plane being added to the Planes list and all of these being centered around the Plaguebringer's minions...
Best guess is either in LFay or the NK. Each of these zones has been having "issues". There has also been a few new quests in LFay but none (to the best of my knowledge) in NK.
I'm going with the LFay zone if I had to make a guess. But then again, I'm the Charlie Brown of EQ.
Anyways, actually the Inquisitor/Interrogator quest seems to take you into SK, so the whole of the Karana/Qeynos area seems to be involved with this one. I don't know if the badges will be required to gain entrance, but they will probably help define just how much the denizen's hate you... (heheheheheh)
