I had a surprise party in Butcherblock waiting to kill me. Among them was a Skeleton Commander. Fortunately I was able to kill them off and lived to loot the commander's corpse and got a Bone Fragmented Necklace.
They are still around and still dropping such loots. I guess they will continue until EQ starts 6th year.

I was rather surprised as well i didnt know this kinda thing would ever happen in front of my eyes, i found it pretty cool though to fight a skeleton commander i suppose he was spawning alot that day in there cause i have also gotten myself one of these necklaces had a very nice higher lvl paladin help me kill him :) was a good event even though i almost died a few times

The fact is that these things are very nice for such events. I am sure glad to have one now on my ranger and my alts. So nice to get for the 5th anniversary.
I got mine in Butcherblock off of a Commander.

I got mine in EC so it did drop there.
This does drop in Steamfront from the commanders. McDuncan is incorrect.
I haven't seen this one drop in either Steamfont or EC. The two zones I've been in.
