after 6 or so months, I finally got the last piece for my cloak, the sweltering totem runes. It took 12 kills of the Protector of Fire ring event dude, but he eventually gave it up for me and I was made very happy.

got sweltering runes to drop today...maybe 4 hours ago.

Protector of Fire drops this rarely.

this has not dropped off the the Protector of Fire, the 3 times we have killed him. I have no clue where to find this item. We have killed all the the named mobs in SolC over 3-4 times, some of them like 15 times. The only named mob we have not killed is Culthor the Gatekeeper, who requires more than our single group to kill. Surely this quest cloak which is equal to the CoF doesn't require the killing of a level 70 mob in order to complete it.

for anyone stuck on this part of the quest, there is information that this now drops off of the named elemental in the lava ring event, Protector of Flame. my group will be heading back on wednesday to try it out and see, so that leaves all pieces unveiled and available (hopefully). :)
I haven't found any information on HOW to get this ring even started in order to get him to spawn, still searching for that. If worst comes to worse, we will just kill every frigging mob in that room.

That is how you start the event. hehe. Kill them all in the bridge room. then 4 lvl 60's spawn. Kill them, then the Protector spawns.
In 5 kills still no Runes though. Killed Servant about 6 times as well, and no luck there. Guess it takes some REAL luck.

Well, the event, after clearing the room, can be done every 4 hrs.. 4 lvl 63's will spawn, then 2 lvl 65's, then the Protector of Fire will spawn in middle, lvl 66/67.
It's not real rare, seen it plenty of times trying to farm necklaces.
