Someone mentioned that you can go 2 or 3 rounds and get stackable stuff that sells for 2gp +. Someone later said that no you couldn't because snake scales sell for 1sp and that plague rat tails sell for 1pp+...well, you're both right, however, in Qeynos newbie yard, the rats drop field rat skulls, rat eyes and I think there's something else that with high charisma and indifferent or better faction sells for 2gp, 3sp and 8cp. The whiskered bats will drop their backbones, eyes, etc. that also sell for that much. The gopher snakes sometimes drop king snake scales, and king snake venom sacs, which also sells for the 2,3,8 I mentioned. They also drop king snake skin which sells for 1sp, 9cp (this is all with high charisma, get some opal encrusted steins). I've gotten rich off the Qeynos newbie yard many times on account of the loot. It's very easy to make quite a bit of plat an hour due to the stackability of this stuff. And if you're lucky, the rats will drop plague rat tails...here's a hint...if you want to get lots of plague rat tails, hunt in the Qeynos Catacombs. Most of the rats I've killed dropped either nothing at all or at least 1 of the items was a plague rat tail. Good luck!
The diety requirement is in place so that Half Elf Paladins starting in Qeynos or Freeport (who worship different pally dieties) can't come to felwithe to quest this sword, and should do the armor/weapon quests of their own city.
Ironically, however, the felwithe paladin can go to freeport, and do the Longsword of marr quest, if they really wanted a sword that wasn't quite as good :/
Let me add, before someone flames, this is assuming he/she is a Half-elf paladin, as HIE cannot use the marr sword, but half elf of tunare, or any other hef deity can.
I think you mean the kelethin paladin can do the freeport quest as the Felwithe Paladins are all High Elf (they don't like to mate with the rest of us dirty blooded folks hehe). The Kelethin Paladins, however, are a mix of Wood Elf and Human. The only portion of this theory I'm not sure of is wheather or not the same deity can be chosen for Kelethin and Freeport starting cities. Just because you can choose a deity and starting city doesn't mean that your deity can start in any of your available starting cities. Often times, if your class/race combo has more than one starting cities then your deity will be dependant on which city you choose.
*****EDIT Ok.. servers are down so I did a little digging in on this and this defies common reason lol.. Why This set is High Elf and Half-Elf usable is beyond me. I can't seem to find the rationalization behind it. As for the deity differences.. For some reason some are deity restricted and some aren't. It looks like a Half-Elf pally cannot use the Defenders Falchion as it's deity restricted, but High Elf and Froglok pally's can use the longsword of marr. /em boggle boggle ....
Ok here's how it works for Half-elves. Every half elf class gets three choices of starting cities(deities will restrict your choices), excpet druids and rangers they can only start in Surefall Glade(Tunare or Karana) or Kelethin(Tunare). Paladins get a choice of Qeynos(Karana or Rodcet Nife), Freeport(Erollisi or Mithaniel Marr) or Felwithe(Tunare).
Ok so i already got a better sword than this one called a gleaming short sword I walk around GFay all the time and see guys with a sword in each hand should i go for the quest and can i put one sword in one hand and this sword in the other?
This is a pally only sword. Pally's cannot everequip more than one sword at a time. And they can only equip them in the Primary slot. If your not a pally you need to be doing the quests for your class.
Ok forget everything about this quest and do not buy a messenger of the queen cus it's horrible. Buy a Centi Warspear! It's 20/30 5ac +5str +5sta and I got mine for only 45pp! No matter what city you start out on get to qeynos newbie yard and camp all the gopher snakes and large rats and other things there because they drop things that sell for 2g+ each and they stack. If you have PoP you can do this easily, anyway about 3 or 4 rounds of killing and selling and you will easily have 50pp which is the avg price of a centi war spear. Please go buy this weapon, it is such a great starting weapon to use and with all the 1h slash and 2h slash weapons you will be using later this is a good excuse to get your piercing skill up if you happen to get some insane stat piercer later in your career.
Rats and snakes drop items that sell for 1 silver each.. Rats sometimes drop plague rat tails as well for 1pp.. You're not gunna get a Centi Warspear in "2 or 3 rounds"
This kind of makes the Falchion of the Koada'Vie quest useless, as this one is a superior weapon for the most part. The Koada'Vie quest requires you to be about level 17 to complete it, whereas this one you can do at around 10.
I remember doing that quest a long time ago, and being so proud when I accomplished it. Now, the old sword just takes up space in my bank. How the mighty have fallen...

Lol that's unfortunately true, however the dwarven paladin weapon is ok also. Of course, even the caster 2HB weapons look good compared to the newbie halfling pally weapon...
